Genealogy documents relate to both sides of Bethune's family: her mother's Terlinden family and her father's de Bethune family. A French document details forty generations of the de Bethune family, from Charlemagne in 814 to the fortieth generation of Pierre Francis de Bethune. A French document compiled for a Terlinden family reunion in 2000 includes family history and (copied) photographs. An English document details generations 1-16 of the Ancestors of Celia Kessler-Esch.
