From the Sub-Series:

This subseries includes awards, degrees/honorary degrees, and honors presented to Ade Bethune during her lifetime. The materials for each file vary. They include the actual documents, diplomas, medals or artifacts awarded to Ade; accompanying printed programs from the events; newspaper articles, promotional materials, and other publications that include information about the awards; letters of information and congratulations; and in some instances, photographs. The John Stevens University degree (a degree created by Ade herself with Latin calligraphy and "official" embellishments) and the Salve Regina College degree (complete with a hand-painted manuscript of Ade's life and contributions) are particularly noteworthy. In all, Bethune received a total of eight honorary doctorate degrees.
