About the Office of the Dean of Students
In 1914, Sister Antonia McHugh was appointed Dean of the College, the sole and overall administrative officer. When she received the title of President in 1929 another Dean of the College was appointed, whose duties included many that would eventually be split between the Academic Dean and the Dean of Students. In 1955 the Dean of Students was established as an independent position, first filled by Sister Mary Edward Healy.
