This series contains materials collected by Ade Bethune over a forty year period beginning in 1960 relating to an assortment of development projects and community organizations. Community projects include: Broadway-West Broadway-Washington Square, “Old Newport” Village, Rose Island, Parkway Plans and I-895. Newport area organizations of interest to Bethune included: Affordable Housing Commission, Aquidneck Housing Co Operative and Aquidneck Island Coalition, Easton’s Beach & Pond Association, and the Point Section Neighborhood Improvement Committee.

Materials are organizational documents, correspondence, newspaper articles, drawings, maps, photographs, and research findings and reports.
