This collection dates from the earliest career development-related records from 1950 to the present. It includes newsletters, handbooks, flyers, and other publicity materials that reflect the services the office has provided to student job seekers. The office has sponsored career fairs, workshops, and other events throughout its history. It has also offered mentorship programs and helped connect students with internship opportunities. Administrative records include annual reports, reports about student placement, long-range plans, committee activity, correspondence, policies, and procedures.

When first opened, this office was known as Career Planning and Placement. The name was changed to Career Services during the 1979-1980 academic year. In 1992, it became Career Development.
