In 1942 the control over the nursing programs at St. Mary’s School of Nursing (founded 1900) and St. Joseph’s Hospital (nursing school founded 1887) was given to the College of St. Catherine. After the reorganizations, the students at these hospital schools were considered part of the college and their diplomas were issued by the College of St. Catherine. In 1958 the department used the clinical facilities at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a part of their four-year nursing program and the previous three-year program was discontinued.
